Terms of service

1. What this service is

SeguiGestorWeb lets schools manage students, courses, enrolments, grades and communication with families.

The service is provided for educational and learning purposes. It is not intended for critical information without the additional safeguards each school must put in place on its own.

2. Status of the service

The platform is under active development. Outages, changes to features and, in failure scenarios, data loss may occur.

If you are going to use it for information you cannot afford to lose, keep your own backups. We say this here rather than in a footnote because it matters.

3. Accounts and access

• Teaching and administrative staff accounts are created by the school.
• Accounts for students who are minors are created by the school or their guardian, never by the minor.
• You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity carried out from your account.
• Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Acceptable use

When using the platform you agree not to:

• Access data about people you are not authorised to see.
• Attempt to bypass access controls, rate limits or security measures.
• Enter unlawful or defamatory content, or content infringing third-party rights.
• Deliberately upload malicious software.
• Use the service for commercial purposes unrelated to the school’s educational activity.
• Extract data in bulk or by automated means without express authorisation.

5. Content and ownership

Academic data and communications entered by a school remain theirs. We claim no ownership over them and do not use them for our own purposes.

The platform’s software, design and brand belong to their owner and are not transferred by using the service.

6. Privacy

Processing of personal data is governed by our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Pay particular attention to the section on children’s data: it shapes much of what can and cannot be done on the platform.

7. Availability

We aim to keep the service continuously available but do not guarantee any specific uptime percentage.

We may carry out maintenance that temporarily interrupts access. Where foreseeable, we will give notice in advance.

8. No warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we make no express or implied warranties as to its fitness for a particular purpose, the accuracy of the data it holds, or uninterrupted operation.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect damages, loss of profit or loss of data arising from the use of, or inability to use, the service.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

10. Suspension and account closure

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or endangers the security of the platform or its users. Where possible we will give notice first.

You may request closure of your account at any time by writing to contacto@seguigestorweb.com.

11. Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms. We will update the revision date and, where a change is significant, give notice by email or inside the platform before it takes effect.

Continuing to use the service after it takes effect means you accept the new version.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Colombia.

Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of that jurisdiction, without prejudice to any right consumer law grants users to bring proceedings before the courts of their own domicile.
